Lent
Lent is the period of seven weeks before Easter when Christians prepare to remember the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Lent can be traced back to as early as the 3rd Century and takes its duration from the time that Jesus spent in the wilderness after His baptism.
For Christians today it's a time to remember our faults, a time of penitence and reconciliation.

Our Lent Study Group will meet each week we will base our studies on the book ‘He Chose the Nails’ by Max Lucardo.
These informal sessions will be held each Wednesday at St Peter’s church at 7.30pm.
The programme is as follows:
24 February - ‘The Sign’
3 March - ‘The Crown of Thorns’
10 March - ‘The Nails’
17 March - ‘The Two Crosses’
24 March - ‘The Path’
This Lent series will conclude on 31 March with a Compline Service at 8.00pm at St Peter’s church.
Everyone is invited to attend.
