Parish Prayer

Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them that, through patience, and the comfort of your holy word, we may embrace and for ever hold fast the hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  AMEN

Collect for the 2nd Sunday in Advent

Together with our Parish Mission Statement our Theme scripture is;

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God,

and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love”

1 John 4: 7-8

Music & Merriment

Singing Children Needed

The annual Music and Merriment Christmas community concert takes place on 7th December, and we always have a Junior Choir, mostly of children Y4-Y6 (but we do take Y3 or Y7 children).  There are lots of items in the Concert, and the Junior Choir perform happy Christmas songs to a supportive audience.  No prior experience is required: the children are trained to perform like angels by choir director William Bishop. Rehearsals are 5:30-6:30 on Sunday evenings 19,17,24 Nov and 1 Dec, and also 11-12 on the day of the concert 7/12/24.   To find out more about the concert, go to www.fosmw.com/concert/ and you will find a red button labelled  [Joining Junior Choir] that tells you what you need to know about children joining the choir.   To join, just send, soon if possible, the information specified on that document to Anthony Hodson, the Concert Director, at aeh@xdotd.co.uk or info@fosmw.com – and you can use the simple text page accessed by the next-door red  button [Joining form Junior Choir] which lists the required information.
