Ukraine Aid - GETTING HELP TO WHERE IT’S NEEDED !
From Revd Michelle Porter-Babbage 4/4/2022
GETTING HELP TO WHERE IT’S NEEDED !
The situation in Ukraine is desperate. Many
people across central Ukraine in small towns and villages are starving, and
have no access to food, clean water, heating and medical supplies. What
supplies they have, they give to their younger men, and soldiers who need to
keep well, to protect those they love and defend their country.
The International Humanitarian Aid is NOT getting
through to central Ukraine. Since the beginning of the conflict the only aid
that Uman has received are the donations from Bracknell. Much of the
international aid agencies are concentrating on the borders and the cities such
as Kyiv, and Lviv.
Donations have tailed off !! The departure of the
next Lorry from Bracknell has been delayed as the lorry is only 1/3rd
full. At first RAZOM (the local charity set up by the Bracknell Eastern
European Community) were overwhelmed by public support and generosity. Much of
this was clothing and bedding.
My neighbours are in regular contact with family
in Ukraine and the Ukranian people are desperately in need of our help to
deliver food, essential items and medical supplies.
Let’s ‘All Together’ support this project and
Fill this Lorry !!!
If you are able, can I encourage you to purchase items from the attached
list (see FB pages.
Take to 25 Saffron Rd, RG12 7BT or the Sanctuary Barn, Binfield, RG12 8TD. Day
or Night. They are NO longer collecting CLOTHING or BEDDING.

Ashleigh Toomey and Natalia Val founders of RAZOM
have set up their own giving page. Please see the link below. They have so far
paid for petrol for the return journey to Ukraine from their own pockets. They
are raising money to purchase petrol for the next trip.

With Blessings

From the Diocese of Oxford 17/3/2022
We are not helpless, more than two million people have now fled Ukraine following the Russian invasion. Now is the time for us to respond. We are working with Citizens UK to resettle 50 Ukrainian refugees across the diocese before Easter - and we need your help. Sponsoring a family through the Citizens UK scheme means you'll have access to their expertise and connections. We'll have more to share with you in the next few days, so please take a moment to register interest using the links below and we'll be back in touch.
I want to sponsor a family and can offer accommodation, if you can offer accommodation to a refugee or refugee family - whether you've already registered as a sponsor elsewhere or have just heard about the programme - then let us know using the button below.
I want to help a family but I can't offer accommodation, there are loads of other ways to help - whether it's picking up a family from the airport, helping with paperwork for the GP, or being a friendly face they can talk to in a difficult time.
If you'd like to help in any way, let the Diocese of Oxford know using this link
